8 things to know: Gym expands plans for former JCPenney site


Virginia-based gym chain Onelife Fitness is expanding its plans to convert the vacant JCPenney at Annapolis Mall into an exercise hub. The company said its more than $10 million facility will now use 66,000 square feet instead of its originally planned 55,000 when complete.

New England restaurant chain to open first Greater Baltimore location


A New England-based American restaurant chain will open its first Greater Baltimore location in Harford County next month. Dick’s House of Sport coming to Tysons Corner Center


A major sporting goods store is making a play for Tysons Corner Center. Dick’s House of Sport is on track to open at the mall in fall 2027, Doug Healey, property owner and developer Macerich’s senior executive vice president for leasing, told investors during an earnings call on Feb. 18.

Fortunoff Backyard Store coming to Springfield


A Fortunoff Backyard Store is slated to open in Springfield in April, just in time for spring outdoor furniture shopping. The company sells high-end outdoor furniture and patio accessories. Fortunoff leased 11,000 square feet at the Springfield Commons shopping center, 6721B Frontier Drive. The store is taking long-vacant space formerly occupied by Party City.

Costco signs on for Viva White Oak project in Montgomery County


Costco Wholesale will open a store at Viva White Oak, a long-planned mixed-use development in Silver Spring. Baltimore-based developer MCB Real Estate said Monday a 162,000-square-foot Costco location will anchor the 280-acre project.
